What to Expect from our Sessions Together
My approach is grounded in the core principles of Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, these modalities offer a powerful framework: helping you explore and re-author your story from a place of agency, while also building a compassionate relationship with the many parts of yourself that hold your experiences. I also draw from a rich and evolving toolkit that includes practices from Somatic Experiencing and other holistic approaches that support mind-body integration.
Although our sessions take place one-on-one in a virtual space, your healing is not confined to that setting. It naturally ripples into all areas of your life. I believe that we are deeply interconnected with the people, systems, and environments around us—and that healing is never just individual. True transformation is both personal and collective, and I hold this awareness with care and intention in our work together.
I don’t assign formal homework, but I may invite you to engage in gentle experiments between sessions—practices or reflections that help you integrate insights, stay curious, and connect with the world around you in new ways.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy is a collaborative, conversational approach that helps you make sense of your experiences by exploring the stories you tell about yourself and your life. You may have noticed how certain events or patterns seem to define who you are—but those stories are just one version of the truth. They're often shaped by cultural messages, relationships, or long-held beliefs—not necessarily by your authentic self.
In our sessions, we’ll gently and curiously explore these narratives together, uncovering the strengths, values, and possibilities that may have been overlooked. You’d be surprised how a small shift in perspective—a slight change in the lens—can open up new paths and deeply impact your journey ahead. Together, we’ll work to re-author your story in a way that feels more empowering, more aligned with your values, and more reflective of who you truly are and who you’re becoming.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is a type of therapy that helps you understand and heal your inner world. Have you ever felt pulled in different directions—like one part of you really wants something, but another part feels guilty or scared about it? IFS views these inner conflicts as “parts” of you, each with its own perspective, emotions, and role. Some parts might try to protect you, others may carry pain, and some work hard to help you succeed. In our sessions, we’ll explore these parts with curiosity and compassion. With a bit of guidance, you can connect with your core Self—the calm, wise presence within you—and begin to heal the parts that carry heavy burdens.
